Full job description

Job Summary:

The Aircraft Mechanic will be responsible for performing maintenance, repairs, and inspections on aircraft to ensure they are safe and operational. They will be responsible for diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, conducting repairs and replacements of parts, and adhering to regulatory standards and manufacturer specifications.

Responsibilities: Maintenance

  • Perform scheduled maintenance tasks such as inspections, lubrication, and component replacements according to maintenance manuals and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance to identify and address potential issues before they escalate.
  • Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, including performed tasks, parts used, and hours worked.

Troubleshooting and Repairs:

  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and avionics problems using troubleshooting techniques, diagnostic tools, and technical manuals.
  • Repair or replace malfunctioning components, systems, or parts to restore aircraft functionality.
  • Test repaired systems to ensure proper functioning and compliance with safety standards.·

Inspections and Testing:

  • Perform thorough inspections of aircraft systems, structures, and components to detect wear, damage, or corrosion.
  • Conduct functional tests and operational checks to verify the performance of repaired or replaced components.
  • Verify compliance with regulatory standards, manufacturer specifications, and maintenance procedures.

Component Overhaul:

  • Disassemble, clean, inspect, and reassemble aircraft components such as engines, landing gear, hydraulic systems, and avionics.
  • Overhaul and repair components to extend their service life and maintain reliability.
  • Ensure proper calibration and adjustment of components according to manufacturer guidelines.

Documentation and Compliance:

  • Complete maintenance documentation accurately and timely, including work orders, logbook entries, and inspection reports.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable aviation regulations, safety standards, and maintenance procedures.
  • Participate in audits and inspections conducted by regulatory authorities or internal quality assurance teams.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or training preferred.
  • FAA AMP Certificate Required
  • Inspector Authorization (IA) Required
  • 3-5 Years Proven experience as an aircraft mechanic, preferably in General Aviation.(Cessna, Mooney, Beechcraft, Sinus, Etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of aircraft systems, components, and maintenance practices
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, diagrams, and blueprints.
  • Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to pass background checks and drug screenings as required by aviation regulations.
  • Position may require a flexible schedule at times, on-call availability.
  • Able to work in an outdoor environment.
  • Able to lift over 30-lbs.
