Ribbon Cutting - Food Bank RGV's New Cooler and Freezer Facility

The Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley will celebrate the completion of its new cooler and freezer facility with a ribbon cutting on Friday, December 12, 2025, at 10 a.m.

The new cold-storage facility is located on-site behind the Food Bank RGV’s historic Valley Fruit Company building. The Food Bank RGV is located at 724 N. Cage Blvd. in Pharr, Texas.

The completion of this project marks a major step forward in expanding the Food Bank’s capacity to safely store and distribute a greater variety of fresh produce, dairy, and proteins to families across Hidalgo, Cameron, and Willacy counties. The added space will also help maintain steadier inventory levels for partner agencies throughout the year.
