Participants may attend one, two, six, or all sessions. Session 5 – The Employer Policy Handbook & Skills for Success: Human resources is a critical component of employee well-being in any business, no matter how small. HR responsibilities include payroll, benefits, hiring, firing, and staying up to date with state and federal laws.

This session, presented by Texas Workforce Solutions-Cameron, will teach participants the importance of creating an employee handbook and the basic legal issues employers face when hiring. In addition, Texas State Technical College will provide information on the Skills for Success Grant through the Texas Workforce Commission.
